Application!

 Sitting at my desk one day thinking… Then I asked the big question, “God, how come some things seem not to be working?”

He answered me, “Son, the key word in life to bring a result is APPLICATION!”

So I really wanted to know what He was saying to me. I checked it out and discovered what He was saying.

          The act of applying is:

o   The use to which something is put;

o   A petition request;

o   A persistent attention;

o   A specific kind of task, as database management that can be done using an application program [such as a computer program used for a specific type of task i.e Word Processing]

No matter how much or how often we hear the WORD of God, for us to get the result that God has promised, we must apply what we hear!

Hebrews 11:7 says, “By faith Noah, being divinely warned of things not yet seen, moved with godly fear, prepared an ark for the saving of his household, by which he condemned the world and became heir of the righteousness which is according to faith.”

Noah believed God that a flood was going to come even though he had never seen rain! So he had to apply what he heard and he built an ark by faith, because faith comes by hearing (Romans 10:17)! What saved Noah’s family was the application of the WORD of God, which is faith! That is why we read in Hebrews 11:7 Noah saved his family by faith. His faith came by listening to God and acting upon what God said.

Ephesians 2:8 says that we are saved by grace through faith. We are saved by grace, but the point of entry is faith. Therefore, faith is the gateway into the Kingdom of God. Once we are in the Kingdom, we have to live by faith; God’s way of doing things!

Romans 5:1 says that we have been justified by faith; in the Old Testament we hear Habakkuk 2:4 saying that the just shall live by faith. In the New Testament, Romans 1:17 says that the just shall live by faith. You have to live by what justified you. 2 Corinthians 5:7 says that we don’t live by what we see. Once we have been justified, we live by what we hear. John 10:4 “And when he brings out his own sheep, he goes before them; and the sheep follow him, for they know his voice.” John 10:27 quotes Jesus saying, “My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me.” In other words, “they do what I say, they apply the WORD and get results”! We fail to get the result we are looking for when we disobey what Jesus says! When we disobey His WORD, we are saying straight up, “Jesus, I don’t love You”.

John 14:24 “He who does not love Me does not keep My words”.
