Which One are You?

“All the devil wants to do is interfere with your worship. It’s your worship he’s after.” – Rev. Clyde C. Williams

But Martha was distracted with much serving, and she approached Him and said, “Lord, do You not care that my sister has left me to serve alone? Therefore tell her to help me.”                                                                                                                                       And Jesus answered and said to her, “Martha, Martha, you are worried and troubled about many things. But one thing is needed, and Mary has chosen that good part, which will not be taken away from her.” Luke 10:40-42 NKJV

Here we have two Christians. One is consumed with worship. The other is consumed with preparations.

Distractions are a very real part of life and the enemy uses distractions to pull us away from developing an intimate relationship with God. If the devil can keep our focus on making dinner, cleaning the house, working overtime, driving the children to soccer practice, doing laundry, watching T.V, scrolling down countless Facebook pages, than he can keep our focus off of God. When we don’t have our heart set on the LORD, we lose out on the richness of His Presence and on the purpose of our lives. You and I were not made for our careers, our houses, our cars, our marriages, or our children. We were made for God. We were made to have a real relationship with Him. WE WERE MADE FOR WORSHIP.

What does worship look like? It looks like Mary, who set everything aside, sat at Jesus’ feet, and listened.
