The Power of Sacrifice

"The WORD of God supercedes what you feel." Rev. Clyde C. Williams

"It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing. The words that I speak to you are spirit, and they are life."  John 6:63 NKJV

Christianity started with sacrifice. Jesus Christ, Who is the Author and Finisher of this faith we live, had to first sacrifice His life for us. There would be no Christians without the Christ Who died for our sins. Once He died for us, all humankind was given the opportunity to believe in Jesus Christ being the Son of God and the Saviour in God the Father's plan of redemption. Jesus Christ is our Saviour, our Redeemer and our Example. His whole life on this planet was a sacrifice!

We have to chose to live our lives according to the WORD of God. No one can make that decision for us. We cannot be forced into this. We muct chose it ourselves. We have to allow the Holy Spirit to establish the WORD of God in our lives as the only reality we know, the only truth we accept and the only way to know the Father. This calls for sacrifice. There will be times when the Holy Spirit is prompting you to get up, sacrifice sleep and study the WORD. There will be times when the Holy Spirit leads you to sacrifice food to fast and pray. Anything tying you down to the ways of this world instead of the ways of the Kingdom of God must be offered as a sacrifice. Why? Because being a Christian doesn't just mean that God is a part of your life. Being a follower of Christ means that your whole life is lived for God. Your schedule revolves around Him and Your decisions are made by His guidance. Christianity is a sacrifice. But we know from Jesus, that even though the sacrifice is not easy, it is well worth it!

Stay tuned for more....
